Need to ask more questions?  Feel free to email info@rainbowskydive.com !

Q: How do I make my First Jump?
A: A highly  recommended First Jump is a Tandem Skydive. With only 15 minutes training, you are securely strapped to the front of a professional tandem instructor with more than 500 jumps of experience. They do the skydive for you! Click for more info.

Q: Can I come to just watch or hang out?  Can I bring buddies?
A: Yes you can!  We are having a BBQ and beer party nights at this boogie, so you are welcome to hang out here!  Who knows, you might change your mind and decide to make a jump during the day.  Everyone is welcome, including gay, lesbian, transgendered, straight.  What is important that Rainbow Boogie 2007 provides a gay-friendly atmosphere at a dropzone.

Q: I only want to make one jump in my lifetime. Can I do it at this event?
A: Yes you can! The recommended jump is the Tandem Skydive. This event provides a comfortable gay-friendly atmosphere for your first jump!

Q: Can I have video and photos of my skydive?
A: Yes, this is available as an option at the dropzone. A professional helmet camera videographer can film you during your jump. Click for more info.

Q: What kind of parachutes are used? How are the landings?
A: Parachutes are modern steerable square parachutes. Landings are typically extremely soft, usually more soft than jumping off a chair.

Q: How safe is it?
A: While skydiving is traditionally known as a dangerous sport, Tandem Skydiving have an excellent safety record and is much safer than many other kinds of adventure activities.  Two parachutes (main parachute and backup reserve) are used in all skydiving gear at Nouvel-Air, and an automatic activation device opens the backup reserve in the unlikely event the free faller is unconscious.  According to 2004 statistics, doing 17 skydives approximately equal the risk of driving a car for 10,000 miles.  A lot of gay men take bigger risks in the bedroom than you would do if you did a skydive instead -- and it is just as addictive -- and you are just doing 1 skydive for a First Jump!

Q: How much time should I spend at the dropzone?
A: As short or as long as you like!  If you are just doing one Tandem Skydive at this boogie, you only need to stay for about 2 to 3 hours at the dropzone.  So you can fit Rainbow Boogie into your existing busy Montréal trip schedule!  However, we encourage you to stay all day long and enjoy the party on the ground!  Stay for the BBQ, the evening bonfire, and the post-sunset beer!  Learn more about the skydiving lifestyle.  Get to know new friends of similar interests!  Or even join us on our weekend trips to the OutGames opening ceremonies and the Montreal Pride Parade.

Q: I am thinking of becoming a licensed skydiver. How can I become one?
A: You can!  Skydiver training and certifications are offered by Nouvel-Air.  If you are interested in becoming a licensed skydiver, contact Nouvel-Air directly. They will provide you with all the necessary information.

Q: Can I become a certified/licensed skydiver before I come? Are there other dropzones near me?
A: Nouvel-Air is open May 1st, so you can contact Nouvel-Air at www.nouvelair.ca if you wish to become licensed. Alternatively, if you live too far away, there are many dropzones in the world that you can train at.  Click to find the dropzone nearest you.

Q: How do I learn more about skydiving?
A: For those interested in taking up the sport, popular books include those listed below. Also, a popular website for skydiving is www.dropzone.com.

Q: My question hasn't been answered?
A: Please feel free to email info@rainbowskydive.com to ask further questions about Rainbow Boogie 2007. Also, www.nouvelair.ca has more information about the dropzone.  If you have dropzone-specific questions, you may also contact Nouvel-Air.
